Stamps for Voila

Wanted Stamps

As a kid I was fascinated with the Stamps used by Teachers at school, Shopkeepers and others. Whenever I could get hold of one, I’d be in ‘Stamp Paradise’, applying those stamps on anything I could find, including yours truly :) . I guess a lot of you must have had similar fantasies. We have a host of similar stamps in Voila, Mac Screen Capture tool as well. And yes, I do indulge in those childhood whims once in a while on Voila too.

Stamps are pretty convenient in explaining a lot of things at one go. A ‘Private’ Stamp would mean, “Yeah that’s right it’s private and you shouldn’t be seeing it”, ‘Sold’ would mean, “Ha Ha, you are late, it’s gone”. Ok, not in the same words but still. Voila provides you with around 19 Stamps. These graphic elements greatly enhance your screen captures, making your documents and presentations more professional and presentable.

Now we would like to know what kind of Stamps do you use frequently or are looking for. You might be using a host of Stamps or Buttons on your Blogs, Presentations, Manuals and so on. Do post your ideas here. While providing your suggestions do mention:

1) The specific image or text on the Stamp

2) The color

3) The shape of the Stamp

This will provide us with a clear idea of what you are looking for. We hope you are having a great experience using Voila, as much as we have had developing it. We are always open to your suggestions and feedback. Keep watching this space as we have some great news coming up, Soon!

When the product grows, treads new paths there is always comparison. I guess in the past few days we have received our share. It has been quite amusing to read them, in the least :-)

Unfortunately, not all comparisons do justice. It would be unfair to compare a product which caters to a niche segment and Voila. Voila is a comprehensive solution with multitude of capture options in various forms, the most wide ranged annotation tools and effects and a competitive sharing option topped with auto management of work products. We are more ambitious than providing our user with just a little snap.

Everyone has a way about how could they present their features to the user. Apple has been the trend setter and the leading voice here. For example, most of the apps that contain a feature like Organizer follow the trend set by Apple’s legendary iTunes. Apple has also gone ahead and stipulated guidelines on how the UI should look and feel. How should the text box be placed, its size, alignments of controls and so on are all part of this.

Since most of the applications conform to these guidelines we are all similiar in some form or the other. If anything, all of us have been ‘inspired’ by Apple. One of the reasons could be to keep that sense of familiarity when the user uses an Apple app like Safari and a Voila browser. So any comparision in the lines of this is overzealous at best :-(

Voila website depicts a wide range of features that the product supports. It is a Mac -ish website. You will find elements of it in the Apple site too. This surely does not mean Apple has been inspired by us!.

Voila stands out in the crowd of capture applications with its unique features;  capture flexibility (including freehand!) and forms, iSight integration, multiple capture, multi-screen capture, multiple DOM capture, use of glossy callouts, stamps, various effects, widest range of annotations, portability of Voila documents, integration with Mac apps like iPhoto, Mail, pinned workflow, image on image (you are going to see some wonderful examples of this shortly) and so on. Phew! That’s quite a lot. How can all this be so little to be missed!! :-(

Our time, thought and effort is for our user. We love it when our users use our tool and surprise us with something great. We want Voila to be an outlet for such creativity. If people have loved Voila 2.0 and its features, the primary reason has been the feedbacks we have received through mail and on our forums for Voila 1.0.  Our Voilites have been simply stunning!. We value our commitment and relationship with them and have taken great care to see our users always come first and they in no way find us lacking.

In a span of 2 months when Voila moved from 1.0 to Voila 2.0 we have carefully selected and supported a whopping 60+ features!. We will always fill the gaps that our users identify for us and make our product better and better. Our loyalty to our users is our right. We hope all software creators will understand that! :-)
