Camera Plus Pro Turns 2 - Celebrating With Live Soft Flash And More

December 18th, 2011

Camera Plus Pro Turns 2

As we all know, current generation of iPod touch and iPhone 3GS doesn’t ship with a hardware flash. Which means, there’s not an ‘as-is’ method to take some of the beautiful photos under low-light conditions. Really? WAIT! You won’t miss that anymore! Because Camera Plus Pro, on its 2nd Anniversary today, is introducing Live ‘Soft Flash’ for iPod touch and iPhone 3GS.

All the iPod touch and iPhone 3GS users running iOS 4.1 or later, can tap on the flash icon from the app’s screen and see the Live Preview of the scene on your screen. If you like what you see, simply snap it. If you want, you could still use the exposure control and white balance lock to perfect everything before snapping that photo. The best part is, on your iPod touch, you could apply ‘Soft Flash’ on the front-facing camera as well! ☺ Checkout the video below.

The live ‘Soft Flash’ would work in the regular photo capture mode and can be used in conjunction with the Big Button (the screen turns out to be shutter), Countdown Timer and Anti-Shake for blur-free photos. It’s shy of burst, live filter and video recording mode for now.

That’s the big feature, but there’s more for all the iPhone and iPod touch users. You now have the aspect-ratio-based cropping options. Crop your photos at 1:1, 2:3, 3:2 or 4:3 sizes. If you find these options are limiting in retaining/removing certain portion of the photo, you can always use the free-form crop.

We added the feature to import multiple photos from your Camera Roll to Camera Plus Pro. So, you can now easily beautify your other photos in the Camera Roll with fast and live editing, applying filters and comparing with the original photos instantly. Of course, sharing is just a touch away.

From the very first version of the app, you have had the option to add photo notes and copyright to your photos. The font size has been slightly increased to make it more legible but without obstructing the content of the photo.

Hope you like this gift from Camera Plus Pro team on this very special occasion! Thanks again for all your support and feedback. The app is on sale for a limited period - buy it or gift it!

Camera Plus Pro v3- The White Screen Bug

December 28th, 2010

Camera Plus Pro v3 release has been amazing! It was nice to see all of you psyched during the pre-release and the excitement once the update was out. The ‘My Day with Camera Plus Pro’ contest is also going on pretty well. Just love the entries sent in so far. But don’t stop at that. Send us more, ‘cos we just love to see how creative you can be with Camera Plus Pro and how you use it. Also don’t forget to watch this video we have put together, where we have tried to show you all the features of Camera Plus Pro.

The White Screen Bug
Some of you must have experienced the White Screen issue while using Camera Plus Pro. Unfortunate as it is, it is surprising how this bug was missed even after rigorous testing both internally and externally. The white screen appears only on a few devices, when the device is running out of memory. Since some of the applications running in the background consumes more memory, Camera Plus Pro gets very limited amount of memory to execute its process.

For the time being to resolve this issue you can quit the app and all other applications from the multitasking bar, and then relaunch Camera Plus Pro. If the issue still persists try restarting the iPhone and relaunch Camera Plus Pro. Do remember that when the white screen appears it will not affect any photos/videos that are captured and already present in the Quick Roll.

We also called our developers back from their holidays. They have fixed this issue and the next update will reflect this. Since the App Store was shut down for the holidays, we were unable to upload the corrective build. In the meantime we got plenty of time to tinker with the app. So you can also expect a few more surprises in the next update! :)

We hope you have had a great time and experience using Camera Plus Pro. We look forward to your holiday photos and videos for the ‘My Day with Camera Plus Pro’ contest. Attractive prizes in the form of iTunes Gift Cards are waiting to be grabbed. So start clicking away those photos and if you haven’t tried Camera Plus Pro yet, do it today!
