Camera Plus Pro Upgraded with 21 Gorgeous Filters and 9 Distortion Effects!

May 12th, 2011

Want to add a little drama to your photos? Do you think the video could have been a little off-center so it wouldn’t have looked so flat? Do you think the white color in your pictures appears a little blue? Well then, this update of Camera Plus Pro is exactly for you. Read on to know what is so special about this update and why is it that you are going to love your favorite app Camera Plus Pro, all the more now :)

Camera Plus Pro Upgraded with the Finest Filters and more!

I use Camera Plus Pro all the time to take any of my pictures and this time when I got my hands on the latest version of the app, I just couldn’t help but notice that the colors were reproduced exactly the way they looked in real life. Photos and videos looked so much better now and had such a nice feel to them. My inquisitiveness led me to the White Balance Lock, which was a new addition to the app. I now had the option to either keep the white balance in automatic mode for the camera to detect the actual light settings or lock the white balance if I didn’t want the camera to lock the settings of the light. Playing around with the white balance gives a completely different look and feel to your image, a feature that you would definitely make use of every time you snap or record your precious moments.

Moving on to the most exciting part of this upgrade, I had a real tough time keeping shh about this one! 21 new rich filters have been added to Camera Plus Pro for iPhone 3GS, 4 and iPod touch. Due to iOS limitations the above new filters could not be supported on 3G, however, iPhone 3G users are not to get disappointed because you already have 18 filters from our last update. These filters have been doing wonders to all the pictures that I have taken. And to answer some of you who wanted to know the settings for the pictures we have been posting on Facebook and Twitter, this is the genius behind all. If you have already seen the previous pictures, there are more in store for you with some interesting tidbits about each of the different filters and effects. Go over here to indulge yourself in these beautiful array of pictures and be inspired. My personal note to all of you, keep some images ready with you on your iDevice because once you come out of the page, it is impossible to not try out the filters yourself. I am warning you because I went a tiny bit crazy applying filters to more than 600 photos :D

Along with the 21 new filters, there are also 9 distortion effects for iPhone 3GS, 4 and iPod touch. Again, iPhone 3G users cannot enjoy this feature because of certain iOS limitations. I had oodles of fun with it so much so that I ended up making a distorted replica of each one of our team members. We have these pictures put up on the wall of our wing and whenever we go past them, it’s hard to not smile looking at them. Mess up with your friend’s photos, pets, cousins, aunts, the tree in your garden, the bridge or any other picture that is worth getting whacky with. Trust me on this when I say that these photos would make you laugh even on your worst of the days.

The next big thing that caught my attention was the Editing Screen. It was not just any ordinary editing screen of a camera app, but the most intuitive one I had ever laid my hands on. I have seen my friends struggle with post processing or editing an image on their camera apps. So, editing was something that I preferred to do on my computer but could never get around to finish the touch-ups because of the time and dedication it requires. Once I started using the new and innovative Editing Screen of Camera Plus Pro I had an urge to finish re-touching all my pending photos and you know what, I finally have over hundreds of them finished in less than an hour.

Let me tell you why the app has kept me glued to editing on iPhone from then on. The Editing Screen of Camera Plus Pro supports swipe gestures, meaning you could now flick through different screens just like the pages of a book. The Swipe Gesture for the iPhone 3GS, 4 and iPod touch works like a breeze when you want to apply filters and borders to your pictures. So all you need to do is tap to open the picture you want to edit, flick through 5 different sets of filters and effects to view the changes in a grid style or tap on any one of the filters and flick through the rest. When you are done, hit the Done button to save your work. If that’s not all, the app also supports double-tap to zoom out and pan gesture to move your images around to see the applied effects. Another cool addition is the one-tap preview of the before and after of an image while choosing your effects so you can instantly know which effect would suit the best to bring out the hidden colors and heighten the beauty of the picture. Re-touching photos had never been this easy and fun before.

I also noticed some other small additions to this update which would make a great difference to the quality of the photos and videos that you take using Camera Plus Pro on your iPhone. Grid Lines have been made available for Burst Mode as well as Video Recording so you would never have a flat-looking image or video. You can refer to the previous post on Grid Lines to know how you can make use of it to get the best pictures and videos.

I have often found that too many informations on the screen can sometimes come in the way of your photography and videography. So, the extra information on your screen such as flash button (iPhone 4), white balance and zoom slider get hidden if the screen remains untouched for six seconds. There are also a couple of refinements in the UI and bug fixes which make this upgrade a must-have for you.

Now that you know what the latest update is all about, go ahead and check out the features yourself and let us know what is it that you loved the most about this upgrade. This is also the perfect time for you to tell us what modifications or new features you would like to see in the next update of Camera Plus Pro. Those who haven’t laid their hands on Camera Plus Pro till date, this upgrade is your best excuse to grab it now before you go green over your friend’s pictures and videos. And keep a watch on this space for something even more exciting coming up your way in a few hours from now! ;)

February 8th, 2010

Voila v3.0 Beta

What do you do when you have to explain something? You could do a few things; give a lengthy explanation, type a lengthy mail; or use Voila to quickly and easily capture a screen-shot or record your screen. Yes I did just say that! Voila has been integrated with the screen recording feature allowing you to record amazing videos of all your on-screen activities. This version also sports better capturing and file management options, additional tools, filters and sharing options. Read on to know more..

The Screen-recording feature enables you to record all your on-screen activities along with audio in full screen or a selected area. You will be amazed with the High-Quality resolution videos of your screen, recorded with Voila.  You can then instantly upload these videos via YouTube, FTP or SFTP. Frequent requests for the ability to capture the Menu with Title, supporting Firefox and capturing web-pages which retain the URL in-case you want to revisit the web page, were considered and included in this version. Tools such as Marquee lets you select an area within a screen capture in various shapes and Eraser helps in removing sensitive information from your screen captures.

Most of you would rather use the short cut keys to take a quick capture and this version provides you with the flexibilty to assign a Function Key or any single key as a shortcut. Regarding FTP upload, many users found it a bit confusing. Thus we have made FTP and SFTP uploading more flexible and easy. The Search has been optimized in such a way that you can now search for your image files or videos by  their Name, Title, URL, Tags or Description.  There are a whole lot of more changes made in this version. You can read more about them from here.

However, what you must keep in mind is that this is a Beta version of Voila. Your feedback on its features and functionality at this stage is very important. Your feedback from this beta will be incorporated into the final release. Also Voila v3.0 Beta is an Upgrade. If you are an existing registered customer of Voila, then you need to install the new Beta v3.0 of Voila in a separate location for testing purposes.

In case you do replace your older version of Voila with the current Beta, then you can download the old version from here. Delete the existing Voila application and install the old version. You can register the old copy with the registration code that you already have. Always ensure to take a backup of your Voila Images Database before upgrading/replacing/deleting the application. You can check the database location from the Preferences > General window.

Download Voila v3.0 Beta from here.

This version was planned keeping in mind the feedback that we received from all of you. You have supported us all this while and we know you will in the future as well. Hope you have a great time exploring the Beta version. Looking forward to your feedback!

P.S.: If you have purchased Voila v2.5 after December 2009, you will receive the upgrade to v3.0 absolutely free! So If you haven’t bought Voila yet, here is your chance to do it!
