Camera Plus Pro v3 release has been amazing! It was nice to see all of you psyched during the pre-release and the excitement once the update was out. The ‘My Day with Camera Plus Pro’ contest is also going on pretty well. Just love the entries sent in so far. But don’t stop at that. Send us more, ‘cos we just love to see how creative you can be with Camera Plus Pro and how you use it. The White Screen Bug
Some of you must have experienced the White Screen issue while using Camera Plus Pro. Unfortunate as it is, it is surprising how this bug was missed even after rigorous testing both internally and externally. The white screen appears only on a few devices, when the device is running out of memory. Since some of the applications running in the background consumes more memory, Camera Plus Pro gets very limited amount of memory to execute its process.

For the time being to resolve this issue you can quit the app and all other applications from the multitasking bar, and then relaunch Camera Plus Pro. If the issue still persists try restarting the iPhone and relaunch Camera Plus Pro. Do remember that when the white screen appears it will not affect any photos/videos that are captured and already present in the Quick Roll.

We also called our developers back from their holidays. They have fixed this issue and the next update will reflect this. Since the App Store was shut down for the holidays, we were unable to upload the corrective build. In the meantime we got plenty of time to tinker with the app. So you can also expect a few more surprises in the next update!

Many of you must have heard the fascinating fairy tale of Cinderella, where with a flick of her wand, her fairy godmother transformed her into an elegant belle to attend a ball that she wanted to go to. In case you are wondering why I’m recalling this fairy tale, it’s because the latest update of Camera Plus Pro is a little similar to this. With a flick of our wand, we have transformed Camera Plus Pro into an amazing, totally new app with the latest update. When Camera Plus Pro was first released, major focus was given to its features, providing you with a wide choice of photography options, video recording, editing and instant sharing. Well, this update is something BIG! As part of the celebration of one year in the App store, we wanted to treat you with something amazing for all the support that you have given us. This update is a keeper and you’ll agree too!

The first thing that you are going to notice about this update is the icon. We thought if the app is getting a makeover, why not the icon? The super cool icon is definitely going to tempt you to take a lot of photos! And what’s going to make you love taking photos on your iPhone, is the gorgeous new UI! Every little detail has been taken care of with the new design, so that you never have to fumble for the right keys when the perfect shot just happens to appear. Indicators on the screen, show what options you have activated such as Big Button, Anti Shake and the camera buttons now change as per the device orientation. We have also supported Video Editing, which lets you trim your videos on your iPhone 3GS, 4 and the new iPod touch. And now all your edited photos will be saved as a separate file with its tags and geo-tags intact!

With this version, batch tagging and searching for your photos and videos are a breeze. You will find it much easier now to locate all your photos and videos tagged under specific titles. For those who found the Password protection feature intimidating, this version sports a more intelligent way of managing them. You can now even Share, Tag and Sync your private photos and videos directly from the Private folder. My most favorite feature is where you can select multiple photos and videos with just a swipe of your finger or get additional options by just pressing on a photo or video.

A most sought after feature, we have also allowed you to Sync all your photos and videos at once to the Camera Roll. And another favorite is the image preview option in the Share screen. If you have selected multiple photos to be shared, you can preview them in the Share screen, apply a copyright or even remove the photos that you decide not to share at that time. You can also switch to another app, while Camera Plus Pro is uploading your photos or video.

Camera Plus Pro v2.6 has been quite some work where we have addressed issues hounding some of you. The release of the new iPod touch, also saw most of you demanding for a compatible version of Camera Plus Pro. Well, we are proud to say that you can now enjoy great photography and video recording on your new iPod touch with Camera Plus Pro! With this release we have also fixed issues and enhanced a few features. Read on to know more:

You must be aware that earlier photos and videos once synced to the Camera Roll, lost all their Meta Data. This was because the  iPhone OS did not support the export of EXIF tags from 3rd party apps. But with the latest iOS update 4.1 and a little bit of tinkering from our side, you are now able to sync all your photos and videos with the Meta Data intact.

Most of you are going to find this useful. Whenever we upload a photo or a video to Twitter, we unintentionally utilize all the 140 characters, thereby leaving almost no space for the URL to appear. To fix this, we have limited the number of characters in the description field to 114 characters to ensure that the entire tweet is visible.

Good news for those who had issues with the video recording duration being limited. We have been trying out different algorithms on how we could increase the video recording duration in the secret underground bunkers that form the Global Delight headquarters! Thus in this version you can enjoy unlimited video recording, along with improved video quality. Furthermore, the unexpected pop-ups that appear when you get a call or a message are now not recorded along with the actual recording. Sweet!

The Video Zoom has been an essential feature in Camera Plus Pro and we know exactly how important this feature is. To allow you to be able to zoom in while recording videos, we made use of this API CGImageRef UIGetScreenImage();. But this API is not a public API anymore. And since Apple does not allow for use of private APIs, we had to do away with this feature. However, Apple has provided a AV Foundation Framework Reference, with which we can now provide better quality video recording and photo capturing.

Apart from these, we have included some nifty features. To make saving photos easier, we have done away with manual save. Now all the photos are saved in the background, enabling you to focus on capturing those great shots. We have also added better looking labels taking advantage of the Retina Display on your iPhone 4 and the new iPod touch. This version is completely compatible with iOS 4.1 or later and we recommend you to update your iOS to enjoy all the features that Camera Plus Pro has to offer.

We have also fixed issues such as:

* The issue of uploads not appearing on the Twitter timeline

* Camera switch and Flash button disappearing

* Geo-Tagging feature not working offline

* Auto Focus not working after using the Tap to Focus feature

Camera Plus Pro v2.6 is thus a corrective version, fixing all the issues that some of you reported. We are grateful to all of you who got back to us with your issues, and your relentless support in helping us troubleshoot them.
