Things to Look Forward to…

Lion- iOS 5

The Keynote at the WWDC 2011 had most of us glued to our screens. With the rumor-mills at their best in predicting what would be awaiting us at the Keynote, nothing prepared us for the awesomeness of it all! The iOS 5 and Lion a.k.a OS X 7 indeed have some amazing features. Some of our favorites on the iOS include the Volume Shutter which enables you to capture your photos with your Volume button, the really cool basic editing features such as the Red Eye Removal, Exposure control, etc. in the default camera with Twitter sharing, iCloud and the Notification centre. And the iMessage. This is one killer feature!

The Lion too has something really good going on for the Mac. For starters it gives you an iOS-kind of a feel. The Launch Pad, Photo Booth, Mission Control are some really cool features too. I particularly liked the Face Detection feature of Photo Booth, and as Craig Federighi says, “You can spend hours with this.

Looking at the beta now, I can’t wait to have the final stable version in my hands, ‘cos it looks so good. Meanwhile, our developers are already working on and ironing out the iOS 5 and Lion compatibility issues with Camera Plus Pro and Photo Delight, and Voila and Boom, respectively. So if any of you have already installed the betas of these, and find that your apps are not working as intended, then in the words of Malcolm Barclay, “There’s a reason it’s called ‘beta’ software“. But on a more serious note, we have already fixed most of the issues, which should be ready in time when iOS 5 and Lion are shipped. We also have something really cool coming up, so you might want to follow us on Twitter, Facebook or subscribe to our Newsletter to be the first ones to know.

Goodbye

We also have updates regarding a few of our older apps. Any developer, be it for an iPhone or Mac, would know the amount of effort that goes behind developing an app. Thus each app is almost like a baby to its developer, who has put in some much of time and effort to create it.

Charm, the math logic app; Wisen Up, the medical know-it-all app; and Word Digest, the dictionary app, too are no different in the value they hold for us. I still remember being a part of these apps since Day One, and the numerous fun interactions we have had, with contests and giveaways, and I was always overwhelmed with the enthusiastic responses from all of you. These apps were our first foray into the App Store and you can call them App Store veterans, since they were among the earliest apps on the App Store.

However, with the recent iOS updates, and most of our effort being spent on improving  Camera Plus, Camera Plus ProPhoto Delight and Photo Delight Lite, and on the Mac platform for Voila and Boom, we feel that we will not be able to do enough justice to our older apps. We certainly don’t want to hold back any effort on improving and providing you with new and amazing apps. Hence this decision of retiring them.

Thank you all for trying out Charm, Wisen Up and WordDigest, giving us all your feedback, support and love on the App Store.

Charm- The perfect app to charm your friends

November 5th, 2009

One of my friends had this uncanny ability of reading people’s minds. And I hated him for the fact that he would never tell me how he did it. I know it’s a trick, but what could be cooler than being able to read minds? You could use it as the perfect icebreaker at a party, make new friends, baffle your old ones, amaze kids and so much more. And now, I have the perfect app to get even with my friend. Charm. :)

Charm

Yup, Charm is an app for your iPhone/iPod touch that can read minds. With a beautiful forest scenery as a backdrop, and soothing sound of Wind Chimes; Mystic Madame, (that’s what we all like to call her :) ) will welcome you to her land of Charm. The app is simple to use and looks very elegant. You will be provided with a list of numbers and corresponding symbols. With a little simple math involved, you will finally arrive at a symbol. Click on the Crystal Ball, and Mystic Madame will correctly identify the symbol that you had chosen. It does require that you be good at simple mathematical operations, which I know you all are. At just $0.99 on the App Store, you must give Charm a try. Get it Today! I am sure you will love it. Impress your family, friends and kids with it, and keep saying, “I wonder how it does that”. :)

P.S. : Few promocodes of Charm are available. Drop in a comment, “I want to be charmed” , here and you could get to try  Charm for free! Hurry! :)
