All of you must be aware of the annual iPhone OS Application achievement awards, The Best App Ever Awards, conducted by 148Apps. It was created to celebrate the best iPhone apps and games available and not just the best-selling apps. In its second year now, the hosts have expanded the categories and made them a little more specific. There are 55 award categories in total, covering both apps and games.

Most of you chipped in and helped us by nominating Camera Plus and Camera Plus Pro under The Best Photography App category, and guess what, it helped. Both Camera Plus and Camera Plus Pro have emerged as contenders for the title of ‘The Best Photography App‘ along with 8 other photography apps. We can’t thank you enough for having so much faith in our apps and nominating it.

The Camera Plus mania just refuses to die down, but we aren’t complaining, we love it that way! Camera Plus has been featured under the New and Noteworthy section, yet again, in the UK App Store. We are thankful to Apple for featuring Camera Plus as a Noteworthy app. We are also thankful to all of you who downloaded Camera Plus and supported us. Camera Plus Pro is on it’s way to the App Store, and we would love it if you support it with the same gusto. And those of you who still haven’t tried Camera Plus, why don’t you just give it a try?

I may sound like a game-show host, but I can’t help myself from being really enthusiastic about the contest. We have pictures flooding in from Twitter, Facebook and Flickr. And great pictures at that. Never knew you guys are such great photographers. Most of the pictures have just taken my breath away with the brilliant colors and the sheer creativity in capturing them. Great going people .

As part of the Camera Plus Photo Contest we had announced free Voila Mac Screen Capture Tool licenses to be given away as a lucky draw every week. We have picked three lucky winners from the past three weeks. They are State Christopher, Marie Johansen and Owen Pon. The winners were picked using a random number generator. I guess it’s about time we brought out the Champagne glasses now. Camera Plus is on a roll and going strong. From half a million downloads to One Million downloads in 20 days, with the update v1.2 acting as a catalyst, is just incredible! The app has also made it to the Top 10 Free Apps in the UK, Australia, Germany and Japan App Stores. Just in time for Thanksgiving too! This has to be the best Thanksgiving gift any developer could receive from their customers. Thank you Apple for providing us with an opportunity to develop apps that can make at least a little difference in people’s lives and thank you all who downloaded Camera Plus and have helped us in achieving great milestones in such a short span of time. It thrills us no end to know that you love the application. Can I say, we are overwhelmed with all the loving?
