Using Adjustable Filters in Camera Plus Pro

July 21st, 2012

One of my favorite things about Camera Plus Pro is the way it implements Filters for your photography.

Now, Filters at this point are fairly common place among mobile photography apps. If you’re like me you may actually find yourself getting bored with using the same ones over time. Thankfully Camera Plus Pro does one thing different than most other apps that I think breathes near infinite life into Filters.

Camera Plus Pro gives you the ability to use one of the many stock filters built into the app but with the ability to adjust the intensity.

Here we have my boring shot from yesterday of my Mason Jars:

For this photo I am choosing to edit with the “Nostalgia” Filter

However putting this filter with the default loses some of the detail I want to show off.

If I tap the button to the lower left next to the filter name to bring up a slider to lower the filter’s intensity. In this case I’ve gone too low and you can barely tell it’s on at all.

Here I’ve slid the slider up to a little past the middle and I can see the desired look I was going for. The designs on the jars now show up well, the contents look good but it hasn’t completely lost its color. After I hit done I can even go back and apply other filters if I wanted. The possibilities are endless. This is a lot better than just applying your filter in many other apps.

What is your favorite CPP feature? Do you want us to explain more about some of the others? Let us know in the comments or post your favorite on our Facebook timeline.
