A New Year begins…

December 31st, 2009

Happy New Year

As the sun sets for the last time in the year 2009, we tend to go into flashback, reminiscing all the good times and the bad times that we have had, making resolutions for the New Year (which sadly remain Status Quo, but that, I guess is the fun part of resolutions) and partying hard with family and friends, trying not to let go of the Old Year but also eagerly awaiting the New Year. Firecrackers are burst, cities are lit, making it the most mesmerizing time; a fit goodbye to the Old Year and a happy welcome to the New Year.

Here at Global Delight, we too are eagerly awaiting the New Year, curious to see what it has in store for us, while reminiscing all the good times of the year 2009. The year 2009 has been a blast for all of us. We released some great apps for the iPhone and iPod touch; Wisen Up, Charm, Camera Plus and Camera Plus Pro. We also had few updates.

Voila v2.5 was released with some great features such as Copy-Paste, Copy last capture to Clipboard, Spotlight, Outline Border and other minor bug fixes. It was also Snow Leopard compatible. Camera Plus v1.4 was released with Settings for Auto-Save or Manual Save and Tap-to-Focus for 3GS. New features were also added in version 1.2 of Camera Plus Pro, such as Tap-to-Focus(3GS), Flickr upload and Localization to Italian, French, Spanish, German and Japanese.

We also saw Camera Plus break the 2 Million downloads milestone and featured in many App Stores. Camera Plus Pro is also holding strong under the Top 20 Paid Camera Apps in many App Stores. We had some great contests on Facebook, Flickr and Touch Arcade, where we got a chance to interact with many of our users. Our Facebook, Flickr and Twitter community is also growing considerably.

We have more surprises planned for you in the coming year, so keep watching this space. We wish that each day of the coming year be vibrant and new, bringing along many reasons for celebrations for you and your family. Happy New Year! :)

Camera Plus Pro enters the App Store!

Camera Plus Pro

Do you know how you could treasure your Christmas Celebrations forever? Simply take out your iPhone, launch Camera Plus Pro and snap away! Yup, you heard that right. :) Camera Plus Pro is out now on the App Store and just in time for Christmas! We had been working really hard in putting together the app, so that we could make it in time for Christmas. And what do you know, we did it! I know all of you must be really excited in knowing what Camera Plus Pro has in store for you. So without further ado lemme tell you what Camera Plus Pro does.

Camera Plus Pro gives you complete flexibility and freedom over your pictures with its multitude of Capturing, Editing, Sharing and Managing options. Use the Point Zoom feature to point to a particular point on your screen. With the Burst Mode you don’t have to miss even a single moment. Select from 3 to 8 shots at a time with only a second difference between each shot. If you find yourself missing from a lot of pictures, Timed Capture is what you should use.

Make your pictures even more special with the Editing features. Apply filters such as Sepia, Black and White and others and transform your pictures. You can also adjust the brightness, saturation, hue, sharpness and contrast of your pictures. Mix and match these combinations to get that perfect picture. Choose from Circular or Square Crop, to retain a relevant portion of your image. Camera Plus Pro also lets you instantly share multiple pictures via Mail, Facebook or Twitter. Let everyone see them as and when you click them.

Let me also introduce you to a unique feature, Quick Roll.  As you go through the app you will be amazed with the host of Editing,  Sharing and Managing options. This is thanks to the Quick Roll.  With the way an iPhone works,  the Camera Roll does not support Tag and Search, protect private photos, Filters, Editing function, Sharing multiple pictures via Facebook and Twitter, adjusting picture quality for faster upload and save. But with the Quick Roll you can do all the above and also sync it with your Camera Roll. So isn’t this a handy feature?

Some of the other features included are:

Anti-Shake: Anti-Shake prevents blurred pictures and only captures when the device is steady.
Gridlines: Allows you to compose and align your pictures based on the Rule of Thirds.
Big Button: With the Big Button, tap just anywhere on your screen to capture.
Flash: You can apply up to three varying degrees of Flash onto your captures with just a tap. You also have the option of removing Flash if not satisfied.
Protect Private Photos: Apply a password to your personal pictures and hide them from prying eyes.
Copyright and Date: Paste your brand over your pictures by creating and applying your own copyright. Add the date, so that you never forget that occasion.
Tags: Apply Tags to your pictures and organize them. The Search option enables you quickly locate your photos.
Sync: This feature enables you to quickly Sync your pictures from the Quick Roll to the Camera Roll.

Phew! Now that is a lot of features in one app. A lot of effort has gone into the making of this app, both from the developer’s side and from our users. 50 users of Camera Plus helped us Beta Test Camera Plus Pro, and provided us with their suggestions and feedback. We are thankful to all our Beta Testers. You can join them and our other users on Facebook, we would love to see you there. Do try Camera Plus Pro. It is available on the App Store for $1.99 only! You also have a chance of showcasing your pictures on the App Store. Upload your Christmas Photos captured using Camera Plus Pro, to our Camera Plus Facebook, Flickr or Twitter page. The best picture will be featured on our Camera Plus Pro Page on the App Store. So start snapping away on your iPhones and have fun! :)

P.S.: Camera Plus v1.3 is out now. We have included Save Alert and Crop: Rectangular and Circular. Do check it out.

Camera Plus-Noteworthy App

The Camera Plus mania just refuses to die down, but we aren’t complaining, we love it that way! :) Camera Plus has been featured under the New and Noteworthy section, yet again, in the UK App Store. We are thankful to Apple for featuring Camera Plus as a Noteworthy app. We are also thankful to all of you who downloaded Camera Plus and supported us. Camera Plus Pro is on it’s way to the App Store, and we would love it if you support it with the same gusto. And those of you who still haven’t tried Camera Plus, why don’t you just give it a try?

Stamps for Voila

December 11th, 2009

Wanted Stamps

As a kid I was fascinated with the Stamps used by Teachers at school, Shopkeepers and others. Whenever I could get hold of one, I’d be in ‘Stamp Paradise’, applying those stamps on anything I could find, including yours truly :) . I guess a lot of you must have had similar fantasies. We have a host of similar stamps in Voila, Mac Screen Capture tool as well. And yes, I do indulge in those childhood whims once in a while on Voila too.

Stamps are pretty convenient in explaining a lot of things at one go. A ‘Private’ Stamp would mean, “Yeah that’s right it’s private and you shouldn’t be seeing it”, ‘Sold’ would mean, “Ha Ha, you are late, it’s gone”. Ok, not in the same words but still. Voila provides you with around 19 Stamps. These graphic elements greatly enhance your screen captures, making your documents and presentations more professional and presentable.

Now we would like to know what kind of Stamps do you use frequently or are looking for. You might be using a host of Stamps or Buttons on your Blogs, Presentations, Manuals and so on. Do post your ideas here. While providing your suggestions do mention:

1) The specific image or text on the Stamp

2) The color

3) The shape of the Stamp

This will provide us with a clear idea of what you are looking for. We hope you are having a great experience using Voila, as much as we have had developing it. We are always open to your suggestions and feedback. Keep watching this space as we have some great news coming up, Soon!

And the winners of the Camera Plus Photo Contest are…

December 2nd, 2009

I may sound like a game-show host, but I can’t help myself from being really enthusiastic about the contest. We have pictures flooding in from Twitter, Facebook and Flickr. And great pictures at that. Never knew you guys are such great photographers. Most of the pictures have just taken my breath away with the brilliant colors and the sheer creativity in capturing them. Great going people :) .

As part of the Camera Plus Photo Contest we had announced free Voila Mac Screen Capture Tool licenses to be given away as a lucky draw every week. We have picked three lucky winners from the past three weeks. They are State Christopher, Marie Johansen and Owen Pon. The winners were picked using a random number generator. Here are their entries:

Camera Plus Photo Contest

Congratulations guys! You are going to love Voila as much as you love Camera Plus. The rest of you who didn’t win, worry not, you are still eligible for the coming week’s lucky draw. You might just get lucky :) . Do check out the other entries submitted on Facebook and Flickr. And if you don’t find your picture there, then it’s about time you submitted one. The Pro version of Camera Plus is almost ready; so all the contestants, keep your fingers crossed. Have fun! :)
