Capture the iPhone Simulator with Voila

November 25th, 2009

iPhone Simulator screen shot

Developers of iPhone/iPod touch apps (including yours truly :) ) many a times require to capture a screen shot of the iPhone simulator. Especially when you want to show how your application looks on an iPhone; be it on your website, forums, handouts and most importantly to convey issues to the Apple engineers. Yes of course, you can always rummage through hundreds of images over the internet to get the appropriate image or you could just use Voila to capture a screen shot of the iPhone simulator. I’d choose the latter. It’s much easier that way. Voila lets you easily capture the iPhone simulator in just a matter of seconds. With it’s customizable short-cut keys, just do a Selection or Object capture of the iPhone simulator and you are good to go. Further, with Voila, you can edit the images and add annotations; to highlight or describe a feature. Try Voila today and invest your time where it is rightly needed; developing apps.

Camera Plus v1.2- Say Cheese, now in B/W

November 23rd, 2009

Camera Plus v1.2

I like pictures in Black and White. There’s always a mystery to it. Like, I wonder what the color of her hair is or what might be the color of his shirt and many such things. I guess that’s what makes a Black and White picture so interesting. It lets you imagine. Perhaps this is the overall feeling among most of you as we received many requests to add the Black and White feature in Camera Plus.

And like we always say, your wish is our command, the new version 1.2 of Camera Plus comes with a Black and White feature. Simply apply the B/W option after clicking a picture and Voila! you have a Black and White photograph. You can also convert your previous images from your collections into Black and White.

Now most of you wanted to have control over the app by being able to choose which picture you want to save. Thus you have the ‘Preview before Save’ option in the new version. This is beneficial in two ways. One, you can choose to save what you want, rather than having all the pictures that you captured getting saved. This enables you with better photo management. It also greatly helps in reducing the disk space being used up in your device. Secondly, this option helps you to save battery power that would be otherwise consumed while saving a picture directly into the disk.

The feature additions in the new version of Camera Plus is a result of the extremely helpful feedback received from all of you. We hope you continue to enjoy using Camera Plus and keep giving us your valuable feedback. We know all of you are waiting for the Pro version to come out and are excited about what new features will be a part of it. Guess what, we are too! :) The Pro version will be out soon. In the meantime, keep sending in your entries for the Camera Plus Photo contest, you can read the details here. Who knows, you may get to see the Pro version before anyone else does! :)
