Like any good genie from the Arabian Nights would say, “Your wish is my command”, so is true with the Voila version 2.0 . Many of our regular voila users gave us some invaluable feedback on how Voila could be made better. And true to our words, we value such feedback, and work on them to make Voila truly a user’s application.

So after scratching our heads and mulling on the various suggestions, we are proud to present before you Voila version 2.0! (Now that was quite dramatic ☺!) However, yes there are a lot of improvements, and not just in the version number.

With the updated version you can capture images using a wide array of options ranging from the simple full screen capture to captures involving different shapes, objects, menu, scrolling page, freehand, and webcam images. Entire webpage can be captured by either importing the URL or by typing it in the in-built Voila browser.

What’s more, the users also have the option of capturing multiple regions or multiple DOM elements within the webpage, which no other applications provide currently on the Mac platform. Users can capture images using iSight or any other external web cams, annotate and share them.

Voila version 2.0 comes with an option to organize images in smart collections and custom collections, so that one can neatly save their images, tagged, commented and grouped under appropriate collections for further use.

Working with annotations, an important feature of Voila, just got better. Voila version 2.0 enables images to be used as annotations and also provides guidelines for positioning the annotations, so that it is easier to align them. It also enables the use of multiple images as annotations. One can even flip the annotations vertically or horizontally.

What would surely catch your eyes is the new user interface. It enables easy access to all types of captures, annotations, effects and the organizer. The new interface has options for toggling the locking and un-locking of annotations, zooming the images on the canvas and moving the annotation layers back and forth. Another feature added is the cross hairlines which makes the capture areas and shapes more accurate.

The blur feature is another important feature of the updated version. It enables the user to hide sensitive information and also highlight the required portions. There are four different styles in which one can blur the images and also adjust the intensity of the blur. The spray and stamp tools are now better equipped with the addition of new items.

To all those who found capturing the menu difficult, Voila version 2.0 has made it simple. All you have to do is click on menu on the user interface, select the menu you want to capture, press cmd+shft+M and hit Return, and you have a snapshot of the menu you wanted.

Voila version 2.0 would be a free update to all existing customers and the new purchases can be made at just $39.95. With all these features we are sure you must be waiting to get your hands on the Voila version 2.0 . So what are you waiting for? Go ahead and Capture!
